In north London, a terrible scene occurred this Monday, May 20, 2024. A woman was attacked in her home by an American Bully XL dog, reports the BBC.

Died on the spot

Paramedics arrived at her home to provide treatment, but the fifty-year-old died at the scene.

A neighbor who insisted on remaining anonymous told the BBC : " I stood near the road and saw a rescuer administering cardiac massage. This poor woman. This is shocking.

Strong increase in attacks

According to the Office for National Statistics, cited by the BBC, there were 16 deaths due to dog attacks in 2023, a sharp increase compared to previous years when the number of Deaths were in the single digits. Anyone owning one of these dogs must have it sterilized and microchipped, and keep it muzzled and on a leash in public, among other restrictions.

Soon to be banned ?

Two dogs were captured on site by the police and were locked in a room while the victim was taken care of. Both are American Bully XL breed. These animals could soon be banned in the UK.
