L’homme a été découvert ce samedi 3 août vers 18 h, au bord d’un chemin, sur une zone maraîchère, au sud de la commune.
Since the end of the day on Friday 2 August, the gendarmes had been looking for a 79-year-old resident of Lansargues, near Lunel. The septuagenarian had left his home in the afternoon to walk to a family member's house in the same town. Since then, his relatives had had no news of him.
Raids, helicopter overflights
The Lunel gendarmerie company mobilized significant resources to find him: raids, helicopter overflights, dog team, nautical brigade. An appeal for witnesses was also launched yesterday to gather useful information.
While the search resumed on Saturday, August 3 at 8 a.m., the man, who had difficulty moving and was suffering from memory loss, was unfortunately discovered deceased at around 6 p.m. Based on a report, the gendarmerie helicopter flew over a previously unexplored area of the town.
This is how the septuagenarian was spotted, on the edge of a path, in a market garden area, south of Lansargues. The findings concluded that it was a natural death.
