During a court session in Malinovsky district court of Odessa on Wednesday, may 16, the Prosecutor read out the indictment in the murder and dismemberment of the inspector of the Odessa SIZO Alena Poroshenko.Defendant Basil Chemeris partially admitted his guilt, however, did not agree with the motives of the crime. As reported by “FACTS”, the murder occurred on 17 August 2017 on the territory of the Odessa remand prison. A repeat offender killed and dismembered the body of a young woman — a Junior inspector II Department of the regime and guard Alena Poroshenko. At the beginning of the investigation, the police revealed 39-year-old Camersa, previously brought to criminal liability for murder and robbery. As it turned out, he strangled the woman and then chopped her body into pieces, which he hid in a dumpster.
The defendant filed a motion to change the measure of security. The court, having considered the motion, denied the motion, finding that appropriate security measures have already been taken.
