"This is a new carpooling offer via the Blablacar Daily application, indicated Claire Lapeyronie.The idea is to allow all residents of a large area, here and our neighbors, to have carpooling solutions for everyday life, and thus fight against the epidemic. autosolism". The passenger pays nothing and the driver receives compensation" for regular journeys, such as commuting.

Free for the passenger, compensation for the driver   

"We know well that the living area does not stop at administrative borders." In our region, the communities of communes of Gard rhodanien, Grand Avignon, Luberon Monts de Vaucluse, Pays des Sorgues have joined forces for this offer "Blablacar Daily"  – Monts de Vaucluse, Sorgues du Comtat and CoVe (Ventoux Comtat Venaissin), i.e. a living area of ​​around 500,000 inhabitants. Between Grand Avignon and the Rhone Gard for example, we know that movements in both directions are of the order of 17 to 18% for home-work journeys.
"Each community of municipalities provides an envelope to allow the drivers to be paid." 40,000 € for the Agglo du Gard rhodanien in this experimental year.
The cost is calculated based on the number of kilometers: 1 € per passenger transported for a journey of 2 to 10 km; 1 € per passenger and 0.10 cents per km for journeys of 10 to 20 km; beyond 20 km, 2 € per passenger. Natacha Rollot adds : "The idea is to raise awareness among employers of large companies and structures, such as the Bagnols and Pont hospitals, Marcoule… We will make interventions during the lunch break to present the system. There could be a referent in each company." 

A state bonus for drivers

"The feedback from communities using this system is positive", also specified the vice -president of the Agglo. Another financial incentive for motorists: drivers who use the Blablacar Daily platform are also eligible for the State system which pays a carpooling bonus of 100 €.
