Alouettes eyeing Tom Brady

The Montreal Alouettes took advantage of Tom Brady's retirement to get people talking about them on Twitter on Wednesday.

The organization's account has posted a montage of a fake conversation with the man who announced he was retiring from professional football after 23 seasons in the NFL.

“Hey Tommy congratulations on your great career but we don't don't think you're done yet. How many “retweets” would you need to put this idea of retirement into oblivion. Come play for us!” wrote the Alouettes in the conversation.

“Hmmmmm 12,000 'retweets' and I'm going to make it happen… It didn't work with the Expos for me in Montreal… so why not?!” supposedly answered the holder of seven Super Bowl rings.

The Sparrows can't be blamed for “trying their luck” considering Brady recently said he could see himself playing in the Canadian Football League (CFL).

“I hope I can play in the CFL at some point and see what I can do up there [in Canada], because things are going pretty well. for me outside the country,” he said in November, during his appearance on the “Let’s Go!” podcast.

It was obviously a joke on the part of the pivot. He made the comment in connection with his successes when his team plays outside of the United States. In his career, Brady has won all four games he has played internationally.
