Malgré les incertitudes de la météo, les Agathois étaient au rendez-vous.
The day of associations brought together a lot of people on Saturday, September 7. The weather forecast had predicted unstable weather but the sun was very present on the promenade. Mayor Sébastien Frey inaugurated the event at 10 a.m. highlighting all the volunteers who work in the city's associations: “It's a time for sharing and meeting with all these associations. The life of our city would not be what it is without the daily action of volunteers for their actions and applications towards the people of Agathois. This promenade is a determining place for this event”.
The 110 associations out of the 300 that the city has had taken possession of the central alley and the two in parallel. The public could find a good amount of information in a good number of areas, as well as cultural, sporting or social. Nostasia and memories also with the veterans or the visit of the bunkers at Tamarissière. Also present were associations such as family planning with themes such as contraception, education of young people on sexual diseases.
At the bend of the stands, the president of the Atelier solidaire agathois (Asa) presented her association. “We are based on rue Hoche, our creation dates back to 2021 with the aim of contributing to and promoting social ties between residents of the city center with a new feature, Le Nouveau Café, an associative café, which will add a cultural program and participatory activities to the ASA. Our door is always open to meet, chat and have a good time”, explains Lina Tornare.
For the Agathoise Rescue, First Aid and Swimming Association (nearly 800 members), the president Jean-Louis Cantagrill explains: “We play an important role in the field of first aid and rescue. We have objectives to participate and promote the spirit and role of first aid workers and an action to promote sports rescue, prevent drowning and raise awareness of first aid". Same feeling on the side of the MJC with its director Luc Alberge: "We are a cultural, leisure, sports association with an emphasis on the link between people and active involvement. We are open to everyone, of all ages, we are nearly 100 volunteers for approximately 1,000 members".
