An individual in a possibly armed crisis was holding the Sherbrooke police on the boulevard Industriel on Tuesday morning.
The individual who held the Sherbrooke Police Service for several hours on Tuesday calmly surrendered.
A relative of the 23-year-old contacted the SPS at around 9:20 am to report the situation.
“The man had barricaded himself in his dwelling with a knife. I was dangerous for him and the others. He was threatening to attack the police, “said SPS spokesman Martin Carrier.
The SPS has completed the sector of Barton Street and Industrial Boulevard where the home of the madman is located.
“We started negotiations with him. A 9-1-1 officer made a quick first call, “said the SPS spokesperson.
The SPS Task Force and several police officers were deployed on site.
“He went after a long negotiation. He was transported to the CHUS for evaluation, “said the SPS spokesman.
Martin Carrier mentioned that an investigation will be made to establish the circumstances of this case that ended around 13:30.
“We will meet with witnesses and relatives of the individual. There does not seem to be any case for laying charges at the moment, “said the SPS spokesperson.
