The census of part of the population of Nîmes will begin on January 18 for more than a month
|Le recensement de la population de Nîmes interviendra du 18 janvier au 24 février. M. A.
The census takers will provide a questionnaire to the Nîmes population who are required to complete it.
From Thursday January 18 to Saturday February 24, the census of part of the population of Nîmes will take place so that the municipality can adapt its services to meet the needs of the public. In order to better understand projects and future equipment, this collected data constitutes a great tool for a local community.
This year, 8% of the commune's inhabitants, those who are part of the sample chosen by INSEE, will be counted, which corresponds to 7,000 households. The population will be notified by a letter signed by Mayor Jean-Paul Fournier. She must respond, under penalty of a fine, to the questionnaire provided either by return mail or on the internet.
55 enumerators
This return is all the more important, as one year, the inhabitants of a working-class district of Nîmes had not responded much to the ;#39;call, which can be detrimental for the reporting of figures to INSEE. "If we remain at less than 150,000 inhabitants, we are no longer in the same stratum, which could be detrimental for the overall operating allocation and the municipal council would also lose six elected officials in 2026", specifies- we are at the town hall.
This year, fifty-five census takers will be deployed in the field, recruited by the City, and recognizable with their tricolor card. Beware of scams! Agents never ask for money during the census. Be careful!
