Currently being renovated, the Uranus residence in Montpellier, in addition to getting a makeover, will host the future mixed police station in the heart of the Mosson district. A great first which will allow the pooling of municipal and national agents.

This Saturday, March 16, the mayor of Montpellier accompanied by the president of ACM Habitat, Michel Calvo, visited the construction sites of the Les Sablons residence in the Pompignagne district as well as ;#39;to the future Square Uranus at La Mosson.

Launched as part of a 100 M€ for the renovation of social housing  ACM, these renovations aim to reduce the energy bills of the most modest households by 30 to 40%.

Les Sablons: 50,000 € per accommodation, for an energy bill halved

The 80 apartments of the Les Sablons residence, built in 1983  in the Pompignane district in the immediate vicinity of the Parc des Pastourelles, are the subject of a major rehabilitation of 4 million euros, or 50,000 euros; per accommodation. The objective is to move from a thermal quality level from D to A and thus divide the energy bill by two, going on average from 200 to 100 euros. per month. This renovation will be accompanied by the installation of 400 m2 of photovoltaic panels on the roof, i.e. the equivalent of the average annual consumption of 23 households.

Square Uranus: 20 M€ and a mixed police station from the end of the year

In the Mosson district, the first phase of rehabilitation of Carré Uranus housing is underway, including the replacement of individual boilers with a collective boiler connected to the Nord Alco network.< /p>

The residence will also be the first customer of the future Réseau Nord with the aim of providing energy 15% cheaper than gas. It will gradually supply the other buildings in the sector including the CHU. This rehabilitation of 20 M€ concerns more than 270 housing units (i.e. a cost of €80,000 per housing unit) and should allow the transition from an initial C label to the A label.

On the ground floor, 1400 m2 are dedicated to the future shared police station which will open at the end of 2024. This first mixed police station in the city will be opposite the school campus of James Joyce schools,  Boulloche and  Roosevelt. Also, two common patios will allow agents to communicate more easily. The complete rehabilitation of the building will be completed in mid-2026.
