A 21-year-old man was sentenced, this Tuesday, July 30, to 12 months of imprisonment by the Béziers criminal court for having resold cocaine and cannabis resin in the La Devèze district.

During the immediate appearance hearing held on Tuesday, July 30, the Béziers Criminal Court sentenced a 21-year-old man to 8 months in prison, to which were added an additional 4 months in revocation of a previous suspended sentence for having resold cocaine and cannabis resin in the La Devèze district of Béziers. The court kept him in custody.

Surveillance by BAC officers

It was thanks to surveillance set up by BAC officers from the Béziers police station that the man was identified as carrying out several transactions at a drug dealing point. He had been arrested on the afternoon of July 25 in possession of 760 euros in cash. The police had seized 18g of cocaine and 4g of cannabis resin in a nearby cache.

Already under judicial supervision

At the time of his arrest, the man was under judicial supervision as part of an indictment relating to several burglaries committed during 2023. He contested the facts throughout the proceedings. The seized money and his phone were confiscated by the court.
