KANGIQSUALUJJUAQ | A 22 year old male was seriously injured, Thursday, during an intervention of the regional police forces, Kativik (CPRK) in Kangiqsualujjuaq, in Nord-du-Québec.

The Office of the independent surveys (EIB) has opened an investigation and dispatched five investigators to the scene.

According to the preliminary information shared by the EIB, a police officer would have wanted to put the individual under arrest around 9: 30 am, Thursday, so that he was facing allegations of assault and mischief. On his arrival at the police station, the man “would have inflicted injuries to the throat and neck, with a knife, when the output of the police vehicle,” said the EIB.

Two police allegedly tried to prevent him from getting hurt more, with the use of cayenne pepper.

“Once mastered, the man would have been transported to a clinic for treatment. At the time of publishing this press release, the man would be in a serious condition and had to be transported to a hospital.”
