The Envies Enjeux Aveyron association, located in Millau, is recruiting volunteers

L'association Envies Enjeux, présente à Millau depuis 2009, souffre depuis la pandémie d'une pénurie de bénévoles.
While the year 2024 has just begun, the 2023 results of the Envies Enjeux association are "contrasting", breathes Nicolas Bestard, employee of the association. And continues: "We need to re-weave a network in Millau. The urgency in 2024 is to revive the premises. We have few elderly people among our volunteers, and they are often the most able to do so."
Since the pandemic almost four years ago, the concern of many associations, in Millau as elsewhere, has been to replenish their ranks of volunteers. At Envies Enjeux, "volunteering would allow the premises to be open more often", confides the employee. The association has two employees, often involved in the field. It cannot therefore open its doors as much as it wishes.
Preventing interpersonal violence
Located rue Saint-Martin, in Millau, the association specializes in violence prevention and conflict management. But also the development of cooperative practices through "raising awareness with a fun entry, professional training or via interventions in structures".
Another aspect of Envies Enjeux is the organization of professional training. The Millavine branch offers "intra" training. "Some people, sometimes 40-50 years old, wonder about their social usefulness. Since Covid, we have observed that more people are asking questions. Also, the relationship to employability and work has been reworked. Before, the question of emotions and needs had no place at work."
A substantial resource center
By joining the association, members have access to internal workshops, but also to its educational resource center. At the entrance, on the right, a large, well-stocked library. On the left, by taking a few steps and moving aside the curtain located near the counter, a full room of board games appears.
Members of the association, who each year contribute 15 euros per family, can benefit from these offers both on site and at home. These "tools and practices promote mutual aid and authenticity", explains the association's website .
"A year of transition and reflection"
The year 2024 takes the form of a "year of transition and reflection", indicates Nicolas Bestard. While Envies Enjeux is mobilized on many subjects, this new year would allow us to rethink the actions of the association.
However, certain events are under consideration such as the relaunch of "game evening aperitifs", practice groups in the form of forum theater and the ' ;desire to perpetuate shared meals which would bring life back to the premises.
Others are planned, notably that of next January 29. The day will be dedicated to a great renewal with a morning devoted "to a big spring cleaning" – it's never too much early. Then, around 1:30 p.m., Envies Enjeux will offer a shared meal, i.e. "an opportunity for people to meet the association, to' 39;take part and come together around projects for the year 2024.
