The European Commission has fined Google again: the reason

AdSense acts as a middleman between advertisers and owners of web sites.

The European Commission fined the company Google was 1.49 billion euros for unfair competition. This is the third such penalty, which will have to pay the search engine.

The EU has stated that the company was fined for “unlawful abuse of a dominant position on the market for the brokerage of online advertising”.

Advertising service Google AdSense is accused that it “prohibits the illegal websites of the clients to display ads of competitors.” AdSense acts as a middleman between advertisers and owners of web sites it is possible to place advertising on the sites.

Previous penalties by Google. For the Internet giant is already the third penalty. So, in 2017, the company paid a fine in the amount of 2.42 billion euros because of the abuse of Google’s comparison shopping on the Internet. And in 2018, due to the use of Android for “imposing its search system,” the company paid a record – of 4.34 billion euros.
