The Feria de Béziers broadcast live in 90 countries

Onetoro's Spanish cameras will broadcast live all the bullfighting shows at the Feria de Béziers.

For the first time in over two decades, the Feria de Béziers will be broadcast live by the Spanish channel Onetoro. All the bullfights and the novillada piquée will be visible on the only current 100% bullfighting channel and will give the city an international reputation with subscribers in 90 countries. The project was born following the meeting between David Casas, a bullfighting journalist from Movistar, and Moritz Roever, the future owner of the channel:  « Moritz is a German who has been passionate about bullfighting since his studies in Mexico and he runs the streaming platform one football. He wanted to duplicate the concept in bullfighting, », explains Luis Garzon, the channel's manager.

« Developing a platform on bullfighting is fundamental to promote it. We have recruited great professionals from Movistar to maintain and optimize the quality of broadcasting and editorial by eliminating their weak points »,  adds David Casas. « For example, you can access the content on television but with all the multimedia tools and we announced in January, the 117 shows that we will broadcast this year to offer visibility to our subscribers".

At these bullfights on both sides of the Atlantic, the program schedule is supplemented by documentaries and interviews to ensure constant content. In 2024, One toro will also broadcast “popular shows such as recortes” and develop the equestrian part with the acoso y derribo, the forcados to internationalize our offer,” specifies Luis Garzon, the channel's boss, very present in Latin America and Spain. Coming to Béziers is strategic for our channel in order to develop our number of subscribers in France. It is a country where bullfighting is well organized and enjoys great enthusiasm. Béziers symbolizes the quality of shows in France with figuras, novilleros and budding bullfighters. All the more so since the quality of the bull in this country is recognized and constitutes the foundation of bullfighting.

A project in development that seeks
financial balance

This presence will therefore offer significant influence to the Feria, to the city and to the bullfighters and breeders of the Region with the reports accompanying the broadcasting of the bullfights. The future of this bullfighting channel, which worried the aficionados at the beginning, remains a challenge for the influence of bullfighting. « We are satisfied because the channel continues its development by having the exclusivity of the main Ferias like Madrid, Seville, Pamplona, ​​Bilbao or Valencia. But we currently have 58,000 subscribers and the break-even point is around 100,000. Tens of thousands watch the channel through piracy and it is very difficult to combat this phenomenon. We are convinced of the potential of this channel even if it currently generates losses. Our strategy is to develop the offer to attract subscribers and the bullfighting world must understand that the price of image rights is disconnected from the current economic reality » concludes the manager.
