The film “A Respectable Woman”, by filmmaker Bernard Émond, will be presented in world premiere at the Munich Filmfest

A Respectable Woman, the new film by Quebec filmmaker Bernard Émond, will have its world premiere at 40e< /strong> Munich Filmfest, June 28th.

Bernard Émond and actress Hélène Florent will travel to Germany to attend the screening. 

“We want to discover new films and new talents, international gems and masters of the 7th art”, declared the artistic director of the festival, Christoph Gröner, about the titles selected for the 40th edition of the event.

Ninth feature film by Fiction by Bernard Émond (The Novena, Against All Hope), A Respectable Woman is freely inspired by a short story by the Italian writer Luigi Pirandello. Hélène Florent plays a woman separated from her husband for eleven years who agrees to take him home after the death of her concubine. She will have to resolve to live with him, but also with the three little girls he had with his second wife. 

The film, which also stars Martin Dubreuil, Paul Savoie and Brigitte Lafleur, will be released in Quebec on August 18.
