Dans le week-end du 20 au 21 janvier 2024, un Boeing 757 exploité par Delta Air Lines a perdu sa roue, alors qu'il se préparait à décoller pour Atlanta.

The front wheel of a Boeing 757 operated by Delta Air Lines became detached as the plane lined up for takeoff from the # Atlanta International Airport last weekend, according to the United States Civil Aviation Authority (FAA). Boeing did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

No passengers were injured

According to a preliminary notice of the incident filed Monday by the FAA, none of the 184 passengers or any of the six crew members of this plane bound for Bogota, Colombia, been injured.

The report indicates in particular that the plane was waiting to take off when "the front wheel became detached and rolled downwards."

A Delta Airlines spokesperson indicated that a replacement flight had been offered to passengers, according to the New York Times, which reported the incident late on Tuesday 23 January.

Several incidents took place with different Boeing models

This incident comes as American regulators have stepped up monitoring of Boeing aircraft after an Alaska Airlines airliner lost an evacuation door in flight on January 5.

On January 18, it was a Boeing 747 cargo plane that caught fire just a few minutes after takeoff. He had to make an emergency landing at Miami airport.
