Since 2017, the Guilde de l’histoire has brought together enthusiasts who prepare their show "La Nuit des temps, 2,000 ans d’histoire rhodanienne" throughout the year. This time, they will take to the stage in the courtyard of the Château de Cornillon for three evenings, from August 8 to 10.
Budding actors, Pascal Touret, Patrick Grandjean and his wife haunted the stages in Chusclan. Alexandre Milési, a local painter, also played and also made the sets for the theater. This chance meeting was to lead to the formidable adventure of the History Guild in July 2017. The first stone was laid in Bagnols-sur-Cèze. Pascal Touret, the man in the shadows, then entrusts the key to Patrick Grandjean who has since become president of the association.
The Tresquois Yves Espeyt, companion from the beginning, linchpin of the band, takes care of the difficult question of accessories.
Pascal Touret directs. The first major show will attract an impressive number of spectators to the Vénéjean plateau. "The headquarters of the association is now transferred to this commune, underlines Patrick Grandjean, because we have facilities , a room available for rehearsals, free access to the mill site, technical support as well as substantial help from the municipality.
Many volunteers
He also emphasizes that the Guild team is also supported by "our neighbors in Saint-Étienne-des-Sorts who host in a local all of our sets, costumes and accessories. In return, we provide them with entertainment on heritage days. The objective of the History Guild is to make itself known through history. ;local history, bringing communities to life by retaining spectators, "without forgetting our volunteers who take great pleasure in going on stage".& ;nbsp;Others take care of the costumes: the manager who works tirelessly, supported by four seamstresses, putting together the outfits appropriate to the scenario.
"We are constantly recruiting. Having a lot of people makes it easier to get dressed backstage for the change of scenes. We see the friendly, family side of the new participants who include their children in the game. It is nothing but joy to have little ones play, on a project of all ages!".
"La Nuit des Temps, 2,000 years of Rhone history", the historical sound and light fresco of the Guild of History, will be performed in Cornillon over three evenings, to the delight of the actors frustrated at only performing once on the old site. The troupe knows the courtyard of the medieval castle well, having rehearsed the performance on site.
