The inhabitants of the town of Youngstown in Ohio scared the unusual behavior of animals. The local police received dozens of signals about the invasion of “the raccoons-zombies.” In different parts of the city raccoons that normally are nocturnal, showed strange activity in broad daylight, not revealing any of the fear of man. They stood on hind legs, menacingly bared teeth, and then tipped over backwards.
As writes Washington Post, photographer Roger Coggeshall, who made several images of animals, said that walking with their dogs near the house, when they approached the raccoon. “He stood on his hind legs, I’ve never seen raccoons do that. Then he grinned and fell back, entering almost into a coma,” — said Robert. Soon the raccoon came to life and got up again on his hind legs. Within two hours, the photographer watched as the beast kept repeating it over and over again.
This raccoon and 14 of his colleagues, which were caused by the police, had to be put down the vets. Assume that raccoons could suffer from a viral disease — a variant of canine distemper. Dog owners advised to be cautious and vaccinate their Pets.
