Korean commodities trader Posco Daewoo will acquire a 75% stake in a grain terminal in Nikolaev.

“The company has signed an agreement giving Daewoo Posco’s authority to operate the terminal with the Ukrainian logistics operator Orexim Group”, – stated in the message.

The facility has capacity to handle 2.5 million tons of grain a year. It is expected that construction of the facility will be completed in July 2019. Posco Daewoo will become the first Korean company that owns the grain terminal abroad, the report says.

As reported delo.ua earlier, Ambassador of the Republic of South Korea in Ukraine Lee Yang-GU said that a leading South Korean company in the field of grain trade is preparing to build a large grain terminal in Ukraine, which will provide significant amounts of storage and processing of goods.

In January 2018, it was reported that the black sea Bank for trade and development allocated a loan of 31 million Euro group of companies Orexim on the modernization and expansion of a grain terminal in Nikolaev port.

Goal: increase the capacity of simultaneous storage of 60 thousand tons to 150 thousand tons. The volume of transshipment according to the Orexim, had to increase to 2 million tons per year.

The company said that the credit funds will be directed, in particular, reconstruction and modernization of the Nikolaev combine of bakeries, part of the Group from 2016.

In the beginning of 2018, the enterprise had the three adjacent concrete silos silos for storage of up to 60 thousand tons of grain from a grain dryer, equipment for transshipment from rail and road transport and Vice versa.

In the immediate vicinity of the plant (300-500 metres) quay wall (loading and unloading terminal) of the Nikolaev sea trade port.

A key asset of the group Orexim is the marine terminal “Everi” working in Nikolaevsk seaport.

Now there are five queues sequentially put into operation in 2010 and 2015. In 2017, has started construction of the sixth stage.

“Avery” is one of the leading positions on the Ukrainian market for overload beet molasses and vegetable oil. The total tonnage of single storage on the terminal exceeds 141 thousand tons. Transshipment capacities of 1.2 mln tonnes of oil and 300 thousand tons of molasses per year.
