As part of its Territorial Food Project (PAT), the La Domitienne community of communes has developed a guide, which lists all producers (breeders, olive oil, eggs, fruits and vegetables, etc.) , to consume local and rediscover the emblematic products of the region.
Through the development of its Territorial Food Project (PAT), the La Domitienne community of communes intends to commit to structuring a local, healthy and quality food offering. "The current agricultural crisis has exacerbated the difficulties facing our farmers. It is more than necessary to consume local and (re)discover the emblematic products of our region, says the community.
At the end of January, in a wine estate in Maureilhan, the president of La Domitienne, Alain Caralp, presented the “Producers' notebook”. This notebook is a practical guide "which illustrates the richness of local production, thanks to the know-how of the women and men of the La Domitienne territory" and which allows local residents to find, through direct sales and short circuits, breeders, market gardeners, olive growers, oyster farmers, beekeepers….
About sixty addresses referenced
The very educational booklet highlights the different definitions of labels that consumers may be confronted with (PDO, IGP, HVE, etc.) and specifies what direct sales and short circuits are. . Very practical, it references producers, details their products and where and how they can be obtained (home deliveries, direct sales days, shops, markets, etc.).
"This notebook highlights the diversity and quality of the region's products. Around sixty addresses are referenced. From the field to the plate, there is only one step to consuming local. I wish everyone wonderful taste encounters in Domitienne! », said Alain Caralp again.
Local and quality products
The region's producers were invited to share a moment of conviviality around their products made in Domitienne: cold meats, olives, oysters, cheeses, almonds, breads, biscuits, wines and fruit juices.& nbsp; For Hervé Cinquin, vice-president at the Hérault Food Bank: "It is important to allow people in need to also benefit from quality and local products".& nbsp;Obviously, this is the entire ambition of the PAT.
