The prefect of Lozère, Philippe Castanet, inaugurated on Wednesday July 10, 2024, the 18th reception center labeled France services: the last mile bus. The objective is for agents from the Mutualité sociale agricole (MSA) to be able to get as close as possible to Lozériens in order to support them in their efforts.

"I am proud to inaugurate this 18th place of France Travail in Lozère", rejoices Philippe Castanet, prefect of the department, Wednesday July 10, 2024, in Mende. This new product is not like the others. It’s not a new building that’s opening its doors, but a bus. It's called the "last mile bus". It is labeled Frances services and is supported by the Mutualité sociale agricole (MSA). "We want to provide services as close as possible to Lozériens", explains the prefect.

Five towns on the base route

Since June 10, the last mile bus has already been present in five Lozère municipalities. The base course, in other words, the test course is programmed as follows: "Monday at the town hall of Nasbinals, Tuesday in the school in Vebron, Wednesday on the place in Sainte-Énimie, Thursday at the village hall of La Malène and Friday at the town hall de la Bastide-Puylaurent", lists Doriane, reception agent at the MSA.

The 18th France services on wheels will make it possible to move advisors and partners in order to "decongest small villages which do not have access to public services", adds François-Xavier Pradeilles, of the Languedoc MSA. For the past month, this system has had more or less attendance depending on the municipality. "For the moment, there has been no one in Sainte-Énimie. In the other communes, the agents see around ten people", he specifies. The reason: attendance depends on the partners who support the agents of the Mutualité sociale agricole. Among the current 20, the departmental housing information association (Adil) is the one that attracts the most.

The bus costs 100 000 € year

Who says new system, says new budget. The bus costs 100,000 euros per year. This figure includes the annual allocation of the bus, fuel and salaries of the two France services advisors of the MSA, five agents ;which rotate but they represent two full-time jobs.

The Regional Directorate of the Economy, Employment, Labor and Solidarity (Dreet) financed 100,000 euros; for two years, for the year 2024 and 2025. The National Agency for Territorial Cohesion (ANCT), for its part, made a lump sum allocation in 2024 of 40 ;nbsp;000 €, which will increase to 45 000 € in 2025, to reach 50,000,000 euros in 2026.
