The Lavallée goalkeeper closes the door

SAGUENAY | While they have played very little in recent years, the Chicoutimi Saguenéens signed their seventh straight win against the Acadie-Bathurst Titan by shutting out the Maritimes team 4-0, Wednesday, at the Center Georges- Vezina.
The Sags have not lost to the Titans since March 30, 2018. Charles-Antoine Lavallée's first shutout this season and the efficiency of the defenders allowed the locals to extend their streak against Gordie Dwyer's squad.
“We just played three games in a row, it was definitely going to be tough today. We still managed our match well,” said Les Bleus head coach Yanick Jean.
With this 546th victory, the Alma coach equalized Mario Durocher for third place in the history of the Courteau circuit.
A productive defense
Two out of four goals scored by the Sags were scored by defenders. Étienne Tremblay-Mathieu and Marc-André Gaudet hit the target in the second period. Forwards Jacob Newcombe and Fabrice Fortin added their names to the scoresheet in the final 20 minutes.
The Sags will host the Halifax Mooseheads on Friday.
