The Leafs' emergency goaltender is living his moment of glory

In the second period on Saturday night in Toronto, all eyes were on Maple Leafs emergency goaltender as starter Ilya Samsonov showed signs of discomfort in net against the Montreal Canadiens .
Samsonov held on, but the Queen City roster still found a way to give Jett Alexander his moment of glory.
< p>At the end of the third period, the Maple Leafs were leading 7-1 and it was a good time to send Alexander into the fray.
Alexander had signed a one-night contract with the Maple Leafs to act as a reservist against the CH. The 23-year-old Ontarian is playing this season with the University of Toronto, where he posted a 12-7-2 record, a 2.21 goals-against average and a .927 save percentage.
