The Lemaire Center is born

The School of Management of the Université de Sherbrooke creates the Lemaire Center, which aims to promote and promote socially responsible management practices throughout the business community.
The Lemaire Family Foundation donated $ 500,000 to UdeS to put this initiative forward.

The founders of the multinational Cascades, Alain, Bernard and Laurent Lemaire, are important ambassadors of the institution.

Bernard and Laurent Lemaire have been students at the university institution. Alain Lemaire received an honorary doctorate from UdeS in 2008.

“A large number of students will benefit in all three cycles, said the rector of UdeS, Pierre Cossette, about this initiative. A new course (Me, responsible manager) will be offered. It will have direct benefits to a hundred organizations and businesses. It is a program that has very interesting and important potential benefits. ”

The Moi, Responsible Manager course will be mandatory for third year students of the Bachelor of Business Administration.

The Lemaire Center will bring together about twenty researchers and research groups related to various themes, such as social acceptability and sustainable development.

It will bring together centers and chairs from all management disciplines, whose research focuses on socially responsible management practices.

“This is a program that has very interesting and important potential benefits. ”

“For us, this financial support is to have better people, better students who will move Quebec forward. For us, it’s also about the potential recruitment of individuals to help us perform better as a company. We must promote the elite. We will have people who will make a difference in our economy, “said Alain Lemaire, Executive Chairman of the Cascades Board of Directors.
