The Literary Café Association of Sète welcomes Daniel Mesguich on the occasion of the 280th edition of Saint-Louis

L’association Café Littéraire organise une nouvelle rencontre avec un artiste à l’occasion de la Saint-Louis. Cette année, Daniel Mesguich sera présent, le 23 août au Parc Simone-Veil dès 18 h.

As part of the Saint-Louis celebrations, the Sète association “Café Littéraire” welcomes theatre director, actor, comedian and writer Daniel Mesguich. The meeting is set for August 23 at Parc Simone-Veil, at 6 p.m.

“As soon as I come back to Sète, I feel at home!”

“I've traveled quite a bit and yet, there are very few cities in the world where I've felt as good as in Sète, reveals Daniel Mesguich. As soon as I come back, I feel at home! Just talk to me about Sète and I am instantly happy." The man born in Algiers remembers as if it were yesterday his first encounter with the singular island. "It was a very long time ago, I don't remember the exact date, he recalls.I was with Michel Jonasz in a helicopter. We were invited to a film festival around Georges Brassens. I discovered the beauty of the city and its canals. Since then, I can't help but come whenever I have the opportunity."

"Transmitting my passion for art"

It was obvious to Augustin Di Martino, president of the Café Littéraire association, to invite Daniel Mesguich for an evening. “Every year, on the occasion of Saint-Louis, I invite a personality from the cultural world. After Jean-Claude Carrière or Anne Parillaud, I invited the great Daniel Mesguich”, he explains. An obviousness shared by the actor, who could not refuse to return to his beloved city. “I fell in love with Sète, its inhabitants and its traditions. I love attending the Saint-Louis and the legendary jousting tournaments. Participating in an event during this festival is an honour”, he adds.
The discussion with the actor will discuss his latest collection, Je n’ai jamais quitter l’école and more generally, his artistic career. The opportunity for those who wish to, to ask him questions about his creative and writing process. “I'm not here to give a lecture, I want to talk to people. I want to share my passion for theater and more generally, for art", confides the artist, happy at the idea of ​​returning, once again, to his beloved city. “I'm going to take advantage of this invitation to show my daughter this magnificent city", concludes Daniel Mesguich.
