Le développement économique s’étend sur plus d’1 ha sur le territoire de Lunel Agglo. Midi Libre – JEAN PIERRE

The promoters Youssef El Azzouzi and Frédéric Alcovere accompanied by the Orpi real estate group have just inaugurated in Lunel-Viel, an economic zone called Place des creators.

It was long and it was difficult. Very difficult. But three years after having imagined establishing an activity zone on a little more than one hectare of land along the path from Valergues to Lunel-Viel, it is now done. This Wednesday, at midday, Bruno Hermabessière, head of the Orpi real estate agency in Lunel who located the land and then marketed the 9 lots, the Lunel developers Youssef El Azzouzi and Frédéric Alcovère who developed the area but also several elected officials including the president of Lunel Agglo Pierre Soujol and the mayor of Lunel-Viel Fabrice Fenoy, brought to the baptismal font this new area of activity in the territory.

A reflection of the vitality of the territory

Located near the Ocréal incineration plant, on the urban edge of Lunel-Viel, it was named Place des creators and constitutes very good economic news for the young urban area of Lunel. It is in this sense that Pierre Soujol spoke on the occasion of the ribbon cutting of Place des Créations: « The very rapid commercialization of this area of activity reflects the vitality of this territory, underlined the elected official. In the process, Jean-Pierre Berthet, deputy vice-president for economic development of Lunel Agglo, recalled the issue of land in Lunelois for entrepreneurs: « On average, one request per week for installation or expansion and we are always stuck to respond. But we see through your achievement that when we seek and fight, we succeed. It’s an encouragement for the territory. »

Concerted development with the municipality

In fact, Bruno Hermabessière, Youssef El Azzouzi and Frédéric Alcovère fought hard to achieve their goals and invested some 500,000 € in the project. One hundred percent private, this activity zone has been developed in close connection with the qualitative wishes of the municipality of Lunel-Viel: dry stone walls, greening at the entrance and contribution to the development the Chemin de Valergues and the cycle path in particular. Moreover, the municipality has planned to establish its technical services in the area and the Pic et Étang joint union (Smepe), tenant of a nearby building, will build its headquarters there.< /p>

Artisans, SMEs and leisure activities

But that's not all, this new area will also welcome several craftsmen who find it an opportunity to expand, as well as small SMEs. Above all, it will allow the local GM Squash club to think much bigger (read opposite) with the creation of a real dedicated complex and new sporting ambitions. « We are really happy. There was a lot of discussion so that the result would be correct and that is the case. We are also happy not to see any housing there. In addition, this area allows the squash and paddle club to develop and welcome young people from the local schools and the Lansargues college, said Fabrice, for his part. Fenoy.

GM Squash and a restaurant by mid-July

Development. It is still just an imposing steel shell. But within a few months, at the entrance to the new activity zone, GM Squash will be set up. Kévin Milla and Benoît and Stéphanie Le Tournaire think big. « We will bring together 5 squash courts, 1 indoor paddle court, a restaurant, a pilates room and offices,” says Kévin Milla, founder of GM Squash in 2014. A project which will see the light of day in June for the sports part and in July for the restaurant “Second service”. This convivial place will offer salads, pizzas, a daily special and will live to the rhythm of club events. Because Benoît Letournaire, who with his wife Stéphanie will be in charge of the restaurant, is also the club's coach. « He’s the best coach in France and it’s an opportunity to have him here,” says Kévin Milla, who intends to take advantage of this project to continue the development of the school of squash, already the largest in Occitanie, with a goal of 100 young licensees within a couple of years…
