The Lunel Vélo Passion Pink team shone on the Tour de l’Hortus

La Pink team du Lunel vélo passion a brillé sur le Tour de l’Hortus

Lunel vélo passion a lancé sa section compétition avec la volonté de développer le pôle féminin. La première compétition de la saison a donné raison au club.

The first race of the year, and at the same time of the season, for the Lunel Vélo Passion took place on the occasion of the demanding Tour de l'Hortus on a road bike. An 88 km circuit with an elevation gain of 1,300 m awaited the runners. They had to complete 4 loops of 22 km with 4 passages on the climbs of Pic Saint-Loup and Rouet.

Thus, among the 300 participants in the race, we were able to count eighteen Lunel residents including 8 women, i.e. the entire "Pink team". Beyond the squad, it is the results of the girls from their first outing of the year which are encouraging. It is true that already, last season, some had recorded interesting results.

They confirmed it during the Tour de l'Hortus. Because they all arrived in the top 10 of their respective categories. In addition Sandrine Navarro (W2, under 50 years old) and Stéphanie Chapon (W3, over 50 years old) climbed onto the third step of the podium.

The season does not has only just begun but the club has already announced that it will organize a new meeting. After the Cigale and the vetathlon, a 100% female hike aptly named "Les Belles de mai" will give pride of place to girls on May 5.
