The Millau kayak club is organizing a course for women and will be active during the reception of the Olympic flame in Millau on May 13.

The MJC kayak club is riding a great wave of dynamism this spring. Indeed, various outings and events are organized during this period for kayakers, whether beginners or experienced, adapted to all preferences. Nearly 13 Millavois kayakers took part in the annual TradiLot gathering on the weekend at the end of April.

An internship dedicated to women in Millau

In addition, the MJC kayak club is organizing a freestyle kayaking course dedicated to women on May 8, 9 and 10 at the Millau whitewater stadium. This event is unique in France and will welcome female freestyle kayakers of all levels. They will have the opportunity to benefit from quality supervision, with the participation of the best French women in the discipline.

The club will accompany the Olympic flame

Regarding the passage of the Olympic flame, on May 13 in Millau, the club will be active and supportive in this event with the participation of Thomas Richard who has several world titles in kayak and who will carry the Olympic flame. On this occasion, the club will offer
numerous activities with an introduction to kayaking for schools on May 7, a senior Olympics and a dragon boat race for retirees on May 10, an introduction to kayaking for all audiences on Sunday May 12 as well as a kayak descent to follow the flame on Monday May 13, from the swimming pool to La Maladrerie, with 50 middle school students, 20 high school students and 15 club members. To close this event, the club will offer a refreshment bar in the evening during the city center events.

Finally, Lucien Schreiber and Thomas Richard, selected for the French team, will participate in a World Cup in Platting, Germany, on May 30 and June 1, 2024.
