The Millavoises of the Marcel-Aymard sports section qualified for the French UNSS rugby championships

Les Millavoises de la section sportive du collège Marcel-Aymard ont remporté leurs trois matchs de qualification.

Generations pass but the level does not drop for the residents of the sports section of the Marcel-Aymard college in Millau. Once again, the girls, supervised by their PE teacher Nicolas Costes, accompanied by SOM Rugby educators Johan Bernad and Alexia Denis, will be at the UNSS French championships.

Three victories, only one try conceded

This Wednesday, in Narbonne, they played a qualifying tournament during which they won their three matches. The first against Narbone was just a formality (29-0), like the second against Thuir (24-0). On the other hand, it was the mentality and self-sacrifice of the young rugby women that spoke against Gramat. The Millavoises were trailing 7-5 with four minutes to go before turning the tide and winning 22-7.

Six French championship titles

This will therefore be the tenth participation in the French championships for the Millau sports section. The duo formed by Nicolas Costes and Johan Bernad has already brought home six titles and two bronze medals. Last year, they were joined by Alexia Denis in the staff with whom they won the title in the Paris region.
