The NASA probe made it through my first closer to the Sun

Parker Solar Probe flew past the star at a distance of about 24 million kilometers.

The device, developed by applied physics Laboratory Johns Hopkins, gave the first signal after the rendezvous with the Sun. The received signal indicates that the Parker Solar Probe operates normally and all of his tools work and collect data. But this recording is only the first of many, the promise, the mission Parker. The first phase of convergence will end on 11 November and a few weeks later, the probe will transmit to Earth science data.

“We’re going to approach the Sun closer than ever before. We are not going to do it once, we won’t do it twice — we will do it 24 times, and it’s awful,” laughing said project Manager Andrew Crisman.

The close approach to the Sun is planned for mid-December 2024, when Parker will be at a distance of about 9-10 solar radii (about six million kilometers) from the star.

Using data whose transmission between the earth and the probe takes about 30 minutes, the researchers seek to better understand space weather, such as solar winds. Although the Sun is at a distance of 150 million kilometers, the space weather influences the tools astronauts and people on Earth, distorting the readings of satellites, including GPS systems.

For the fastest space ship in the history of the transmission of scientific data — very long undertaking. Because of the orientation of the spacecraft to the Sun, scientists have to wait a few weeks before the data can be transmitted back to Earth.

As reported by “Around the world. Ukraine”, solar probe was the fastest machine in the history of mankind.
