Les organisateurs des 20 km de Montpellier sont venus présenter la 40e édition de l’évènement au stand de notre journal ce mercredi 16 octobre.
For this 40th edition, which will take place on Sunday, November 24, the organizers of the “20 km of Montpellier” are keeping the same recipe while adding a few new features. Most of the profits will still be donated to Handisport. The course will loop through Montpellier with the start and finish at the Domaine d'O.
Three main new features
The main innovation being the “half-course”, 10 km long. This event will start from the Arc de Triomphe and will have the same finish as the normal race. For this new edition, the organizers have also introduced a “Company Challenge”, a team competition in the colors of the company open to the 20 km and the half-course. They also offer a line of clothing in the colors of the race (t-shirts and windbreakers) for sale on their site.
Considered by its organizers as “the historic race of Montpellier”, the event brings together more than 1,700 participants and mobilizes around 300 volunteers. This year, the goal is to raise 20,000 euros for the benefit of athletes with disabilities, people at the end of their lives and all the works supported by the Lions Club Montpellier Languedoc.
