He is one of the emblematic figures of the Palestinian cause. Leïla Shahid, former general delegate of Palestine in France and Europe, invites us today to question the strategy pursued by Benyamin Netanyahu since he began his destructive response in the Gaza Strip, after the bloody attacks by Hamas in Israel.

"These six months of war are not a response only to the horrible massacre carried out by Hamas on October 7 , because it could have lasted a week, a month, explains Leïla Shahid, For me, the objective is clear, they want to remove the citizens of Gaza, she believes.

"The destruction of Palestinian society"

"Otherwise why deprive them of food, ;water, electricity, health care ? Why bomb entire civilian buildings and hospitals like Al-Shifa ? Why destroy medical equipment&nbsp ;? They are also trying to terrorize humanitarian organizations, says the former general delegate of Palestine.

Netanyahu wants to recover the Gaza Strip but without a population, says Leïla Shahid.

"I see no way out"

"The Americans drop packages by helicopter, but continue to supply weapons to Israel, they take us  for fools! The Israeli population is braver than foreign states because they are demonstrating against Netanyahu. How is it that there are no sanctions against the Israeli government ?", points out the former delegate of the Palestine.

"Today, I don't see a way out, continues Leïla Shahid, in such terrible war situations, civilians try to take refuge in neighboring countries, there none welcomes them, the population is trapped", s’ she worries.
