The mayor of Montréal Valérie Plant “is expected to release a budget for the portable cameras,” according to a former police officer of the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM).
“I don’t always agree with it, but, now, I am, because it is a kind of protection for police officers,” said Amy Lavoie, interview with Richard Martineau, on QUB radio.
The police retired from the SPVM has also confided that she “will not be fooled again never again this work.”
Remember that the death of George Floyd, a black man of 46 years who was asphyxiated by a white policeman in Minneapolis, has rekindled the debates on the wearing of cameras by police officers.
