'The pot was still hot': She was cooking her own mother's human remains, a young woman arrested

Accused of dismembering her mother and trying to cook her remains, a 32-year-old woman from Kentucky in the United States was arrested on Wednesday, October 9, 2024.

A man who had been hired to work on a property in Mount Olivet in the state of Kentucky in the United States, contacted the authorities on Wednesday, October 9, after finding a dismembered body in the garden, the Kentucky State Police said.

Incantations and dismemberment

The day before his gruesome discovery, he had seen the mother and her 32-year-old daughter together in the garden of the property where he was working. According to his statements to the police, the thirty-year-old showed signs of aggression and seemed disoriented. He also remembers hearing her pronounce incantations against him, reports HuffPost.

The officers then went to the scene and found the dismembered body in the garden; The victim's arms, legs and head were detached from his body, police said.

Police also found a bloody mattress nearby that contained several human body parts and organs, according to documents seen by HuffPost.

"Still warm to the touch"

Authorities then managed, not without difficulty, to get the 32-year-old woman out of hiding in the family home. She was covered in blood, our colleagues at the Daily Mail report.

While searching the house, officers also found a sort of steel cauldron in the oven containing human remains of the mother. The pot was still hot to the touch,, reports HuffPost.

A “pile of her hair” was also discovered by the witness who raised the alarm. After investigations, the police concluded that it was indeed the body of the thirty-year-old's mother.

The young woman is accused of obstruction, tampering with evidence and abuse of a corpse and has been placed in custody.
