En raison de l’opposition de plusieurs associations à cette journée, et par crainte de "troubles à l’ordre public", cette interdiction sera effective ce dimanche 23 juin, date de l’événement, dans le secteur de Grammont.
The Simone Veil Jewish cultural center in Montpellier is organizing the 47th Jerusalem Day, this Sunday, June 23, on the Grammont site. This event supported by the City, the Department and the Region is contested by several associations who see it as an ode to Israeli policy, colonization, and the denial of the right to the lives of Palestinians and above all, a denial of the reality of the genocidal process.
"In view of the sensitivity of the national and international context, and faced with the proven risks of disturbances to public order, the prefect of ;Hérault François-Xavier Lauch has decided to prohibit this Sunday, June 23, between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m., any event organized in Montpellier on the Domaine de Grammont site and surrounding areas in accordance with within the perimeter defined by decree", indicates the prefecture of Hérault in a press release.
