721 élèves sont inscrits au Pic-La Salle, 470 à Fénelon et 184 à la Sainte-Madeleine.
Just like the public middle schools of Béziers, the three private Catholic schools in the city opened their doors on Monday, September 2 to welcome their first students.
At the Pic
At the Pic-La Salle, managed by the head of the establishment Valérie Theillard, 721 middle school students started their new school year: 178 in 6th grade, 176 in 5th grade, 185 in 4th grade and 182 in 3rd grade. "This is a start of the school year marked by work since the entire administrative building (at the entrance) has been brought up to accessibility standards. Other work is underway; namely building 2 which will house a CDI on the ground floor, a teachers' room, science laboratories and classrooms. They should be completed during the year", specifies the head of the establishment who is proposing something new for this new school year: a karate section.
It is in addition to the other specific features of the college, such as bilingual, Euro-Spanish and Euro-English classes.
At Fénelon and Sainte-Madeleine
As for the college adjoining Pic, namely Fénelon, directed by Jean-Luc Pagès, 469 students have started, or will start, their new school year: 119 in 6th grade, 112 in 5th grade, 126 in 4th grade and 112 in 3rd. "No particular new developments but lots of projects related to the activities on each level", says Isabelle Liniger, the assistant director. The 6th graders returned on Monday, September 2nd, the other three classes will return on Tuesday, September 3rd.
Finally, at Sainte-Madeleine, a rather family-oriented college with small numbers run by the same heads of establishment, a total of 184 middle school students will follow the courses there.
