The producer of “December” is angry to have his show replaced by one that is not about Christmas

December producer Robert Doré can't believe his Christmas show has been replaced by the one about the Cowboys Fringants universe, at the Théâtre Maisonneuve. “They could have done this show in any month of the year.”
Robert Doré has difficulty explaining Place des Arts' decision to present the musical Pub Royal throughout the month of December.
“The two shows that will be playing at Théâtre Maisonneuve in December are not Christmas shows,” he said. There will be Danse Danse and that of the Cowboys.”
The producer mentions that he really likes the work of the Cowboys and has nothing against the group. “I am convinced that it will surely be a very good show. It's a show of Quebec culture that represents us very well.”
But he doesn't understand why the producer of Pub Royal, Claude Larivée, specifically chose the month of December and the Théâtre Maisonneuve to present this show.
“He must have known that his show could have been done in any month of the year. year. Me, as a producer, I would never have done the same thing. He knew what he was getting into, he knew who he was negotiating with. […] I have been producing for 30 years. I've never seen that.”
“Like a sledgehammer”
The producer mentions having taken the news very hard that the show < em>December would no longer return after 20 years at Place des Arts.
“I received that like a crushing blow. […] It was done in a very cavalier way. I was not even given the chance to announce that it was the last season. Our public did not have that opportunity.
“I find it flat that the Cowboys Fringants, their work is used and it comes out in a controversy of this kind. These artists don't deserve this.”
