Cambriolage opportuniste

#GARDVery unpleasant surprise, this Friday, May 31, in Sérignac. At the home of Annette Guibal, the former mayor of the town of Canaules-et-Argentières who was killed by a dog while she was going to the cemetery, a window was discovered broken. According to the gendarmerie, who quickly arrived on site, the events occurred on the night of Thursday 30 to Friday 31 May. It appears that multimedia devices have not disappeared. The police are therefore directing their investigation towards a burglary, or even an attempted burglary.

Rave parties banned all summer

#HERAULT "Undeclared festive gatherings of a musical nature, such as rave parties or teknivals, are multiplying on the national territory not without causing significant disturbances to order, recalls the prefecture in a press release before giving an overview of the situation in the department.

"Hérault does not escape the phenomenon with 47 rave parties recorded in 2023, including 16 including more than 500 people, and three rave parties already observed since the start of 2024." An observation which led it to ban these "festive gatherings of a musical nature, rave party and teknival type, throughout the department until September 30"&nbsp ;in order to "prevent risks affecting public security, tranquility and health ". "The transport of type 3 sound system 4 sound equipment intended for the targeted gatherings is also prohibited on all road networks",specifies the prefecture. Legally declared events remain authorized.

Intense activity at the bird park

#CAMARGUE In Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer, the Pont-de-Gau ornithological park welcomes, on 60 ha, thousands of birds. In the middle of spring, after the migration time and the mating period, the birds settle down. Make its nest, lay eggs… find something to fill the stomachs of newborns. The work is intense.

Le Pont-de-Gau, a site developed for three generations, between marshes and islets, is a paradise for ibises, stilts, spoonbills, herons, bee-eaters but also shelducks (large coastal ducks) or more endangered species like the little tern. The bird park is open every day from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Holstered at home

#MONTPELLIER After three hours of negotiations, a 42-year-old man from Montpellier, who had retreated to his home claiming to be armed, was overpowered without the slightest incident by the men of the Raid, this Friday shortly before noon.

Taken care of by emergency workers from Samu 34 and the Hérault firefighters whom he copiously insulted, the accused, psychologically fragile, was taken under police escort in the psychiatric emergencies of the Lapeyronie hospital center. Before, it seems, being interned at La Colombière.

He started by throwing his things out of the window into the street. After his arrest, the search of his home yielded nothing.

The number of the day: 5

#MONTPELLIER This is the number of paintings that the Fabre Museum purchased during the Farran auction. Among them, Christ the Redeemer (40,000,000) and Saint-Sébastien (46,000,000) by François-Xavier Fabre.

The museum also acquired two paintings by Moulinier and Descossy. This sale, which took place in Castelnau-le-Lez, brought together 1,500 people on the Internet, 200 by telephone and a hundred in the room.
