The railing of a balcony torn off by a gust of wind falls on a car in Perpignan

Le vent fait s'écrouler la rambarde du balcon. L'INDEPENDANT – MICHEL CLEMENTZ

This Sunday, January 7, the tramontane is blowing very hard in the Pyrénées-Orientales. In Perpignan, a railing was completely torn off a balcony by a gust.

More fear than harm for this Perpignan woman. According to our colleagues from L'Indépendant, the railing of his balcony flew away this Sunday. She ended up on the car parked in front of her house.

The department placed on yellow alert

"Within 5 minutes, my son who was leaving for work took the balcony railing on his head!", she testifies. This resident admits that her railing “was moving a little”, but it must above all be said that the wind is blowing very strongly this Sunday in the P-O.

Just like Aude, Hérault, Vaucluse, Bouches-du-Rhône, Drôme and Ardèche, the department is placed on yellow alert by Météo France.

Gusts of more than 115 km/h were measured in Perpignan during the day.
