The first phase of the reopening of the restaurants will be announced soon, confirmed the minister of Tourism Caroline Proulx.
“I was told that the public Health and the CNESST are going to introduce very soon, shortly, the first phase,” she says in an interview at the Quebec Morning.
While many sectors of tourism have started their déconfinement, the restaurant owners will become impatient. “We announce a re-opening phase-in of the tourism industry, one is aware that the bars, the restaurants, the terraces, it’s part of the experience,” added Ms. Proulx.
The minister is working with ministers Peter Fitzgibbon (Economy and Innovation) and André Lamontagne (Agriculture), and the department of public Health to give the tools to the foodservice sector over the next few weeks.
In the plan of déconfinement published by Quebec, the reopening of restaurants (phase 1) is part of phase 6, which also includes day camps, swimming pools and outdoor practical team sports outside. The “phase 2” of the re-opening of the restaurants is part of a “later phase”.
