In addition, the Alliance has suspended civilian and military cooperation with Russia, at the same time, while remaining “open to political dialogue”. NATO does not seek confrontation and poses no threat to Russia, the document says.
As stated in the Declaration, the decision of the Alliance is motivated by “aggressive actions of Russia”, including the threat of force, “which undermined Euro-Atlantic security”.
During the summit, Donald trump has proposed to increase defense spending to four percent of GDP. In addition, he again demanded that Germany increase in defense spending and said that Berlin “is under the full control of Russia.”
