The Saguenéens finally reverse the Oceanic

BETTING À DAY

The Chicoutimi Saguenéens tend to be successful in front of their fans, especially against the Rimouski Océanic. The “Sags” once again had the upper hand over their Bas-Saint-Laurent rivals on Sunday afternoon.

The “Sags” have lost four of their last five games against the Océanic this season and the only victory for the Blues took place at the Center Georges-Vézina. The Chicoutimi team performed another tour de force to finally win 3 2 at home.

“I was really disappointed with the way we came out in the first period. , said the head coach of the “Sags”, Yanick Jean. But I found us better as the match progressed.”

Strong start

During the first half of the game, everything seemed to be smiling for the Océanic. This is why the Rimouski team took the lead by two goals in the first period. Lyam Jacques and Julien Béland calmed the 2100 spectators gathered in the amphitheater.

“Honestly, I liked the performance and the efforts of the guys, but in a season there are always losses like that. We could have capitalized a little more on the power play,” said Rimouski driver Serge Beausoleil.

With only three shots in the first period, the “Sags” quietly appropriated the pace of the game during the second period. Zachary Gravel's goal at the end of the engagement accentuated this turnaround.

Awakening at the right time

Line partners Alexis Morin and Maxim Massé took their game up a notch in the third period.

Both players flashed the red light to allow their side to end the weekend with a win. Moreover, thanks to his fourth winning goal of the season, Massé reached the 20-goal mark.

“It's always fun to beat the team in my region, admitted the 16-year-old rookie. I say it often, but I don't want to set goals.

The  Sags  will cross swords with the Baie-Comeau Drakkar, Thursday evening, at the Center Henry-Leonard.
