“The Scarlet Servant”: a first for Club illico which offers the 5th season simultaneously with Hulu

MISE & Agrave; DAY

For the very first time in its history, Club illico is making episodes of a hit series available at the same time as the original English version, namely those from the fifth season of < strong>“La servante écarlate” (“The Handmaid's Tale”).

It's a rare fact, months, even years, that can pass before French-speaking audiences can get their teeth into the translated version of a major television production.

Every Wednesday, at Starting September 21, a new episode will be added on Club illico until the end of the season.

Remember that the series is based on the book “The Handmaid's Tale”, by Canadian author Margaret Atwood, published in 1985. In 2019, the 82-year-old novelist wrote a sequel, “The Testaments”, set 15 years later.

Hulu has confirmed that a series is in the works to adapt “The Testaments” and that the sixth season of “The Scarlet Handmaiden” will be the very last, alongside the presentation of the first episode of the fifth season, the week last, at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).
