The Seaquarium Institut Marin du Grau-du-Roi (Gard) has just been recognized by the Association of Museums and Centers for the Development of Scientific, Technical and Industrial Culture (AMCSTI) as a Center for Scientific Culture.

This recognition "underlines our long-standing commitment to raising public awareness of the issues surrounding the protection of marine ecosystems, as well as
our positioning as a major player in science and culture in the
department of Gard, in Occitanie and at the national level, i
indicates the Seaquarium in a press release.

First Mediterranean aquarium

The Seaquarium of Grau-du-Roi is, as such, the first Mediterranean aquarium to join the AMSCTI network. "Participation in this network, supported by the Ministries of Culture and Research and that of Industry, has 270 members at the national level, including 24 in Occitania, thus strengthening our commitment to the promotion of scientific culture", the press release indicates.

A recognition that accompanies the growth of the place, also very popular with tourists.
