The elected members of the Nîmes Métropole community council, which was held this Monday, September 23 in the evening, were expecting an offensive opening speech from President Franck Proust. The latter was exonerated about ten days ago in the Senim affair. They were not disappointed!
The elected official from Nîmes shared his relief. “Nothing in this matter was likely to tarnish my honor.” He also recalled the platform signed on April 26, 2022 by community elected officials Rémi Nicolas, Frédéric Touzellier and Eddy Valadier, with Jean-Paul Fournier that “I will never forget”, the “dignity” of the opposition before scratching Yvan Lachaud without saying his name.
Very harsh remarks, also a reference to the personal beliefs of the director of the Alzon Institute. Which led to very harsh exchanges between the two elected officials, with Franck Proust shouting in particular a “shut up!” at Yvan Lachaud. The latter suggested to President Proust to address the three prosecutors, the investigating judge who dealt with the case rather than him. And he recalled that as deputy for finances of the City of Nîmes, it was good form to report “the state of dysfunction, of non-compliant practices of Senim. I have never filed a complaint against you, but one may be filed if you continue to attack the fact that I am a Christian!”
It was finally the left-wing opposition elected official Vincent Bouget who blew the final whistle by calling for calm: “Let's keep some modesty!”, he said. Before the council returned to normal, Franck Proust said to Yvan Lachaud: “For nearly 20 years, I have suffered. I will never forgive you!”
