Fifteen months after the norovirus episode which contaminated the Thau basin and caused significant damage to oyster farmers, the procedures are not closed. Nor did they succeed.

As we specified (Midi Libre of April 8), the Mediterranean Regional Shellfish Committee (CRCM) finally renounced the filing of a complaint initially envisaged.
On the advice of Fidal, his law firm, he preferred to opt for a summary assessment, a procedure where an independent expert is appointed and pronounces on the sanitation system.

Several identical procedures opened elsewhere in France

But more than a year later, the conditions are still not met for it to result in a filing with the court. "Six procedures are open in France (*) and managed by Fidal, including ours, explains Patrice Lafont, president of the CRCM. To be able to submit our request, we need a certain number of files justifying damages. Two professionals filled them out. But about ten are missing. We're going to restart them. We're not letting go of the subject."

The head of the Committee also questions the accuracy of the standards and their adaptation to realities. "The Agglo de Sète has carried out ;rsquo;important works which made it possible to eliminate pollution by overflow.
