The Tarn water race is preparing for the 2024 edition between Lozère and Aveyron

La course partira de Lozère pour arriver en Aveyron. Tawara – Florent Schneider

The endurance race on the Tarn returns on June 8 and 9, 2024 and registrations are open.

There are several ways to walk along the Tarn to admire the beauty of the landscapes that these gorges offer along the rapids. Walking the GR©736 trail with different modes of transport is one, running 160, 100 or 40 kilometers with Tarn Valley Trail is another and rowing 80 km solo, in a team or in relay is also one of the possibilities, thanks to the Tarn water race. The one commonly called Tawara, an acronym that slips into the mouths of paddle lovers, returns on June 8 and 9 between Lozère and Aveyron.

Three tests on the program

For this return, after a year 2023 marked by a cancellation due to weather conditions, the formula remains unchanged. An endurance race on Sunday June 9 starting from Saint-Chély-du-Tarn with an arrival in Saint-Rome-de-Tarn. It is possible to do it alone, in a crew or in relays, by paddle, canoe or kayak. Saturday's events are more fun with a Run N'Paddle with 2.5 km of running and 2.5 km of rowing between La Malène and the Le Gabitou campsite and a paddle X-Cross in La Malène. Registrations are now open on the race website. A challenge will reward the best Aveyron resident on the waters in partnership with the Departmental Committee for the promotion of healthy sport in Aveyron.
