Internship offers for secondaries in the region

#OCCITANIE. From June 17 to 28, 50,000 second-year students will have to complete a two-week internship for the first time. The Region is offering a new solution to help with this research from the 3rd: called ID Stages Occitanie, this online platform brings together more than 5,000 offers.

"This measure revealed significant inequalities. For those who do not have a network, or who live in areas where offers are few, there is a real anxiety of not finding something. To fight against these social and territorial determinists, I wanted the Region to help concretely in the search for internships", affirms the president of the Region Carole Delga.

Tiger mosquito: maximum vigilance

#LANGUEDOC. The Vigilance mosquitoes site recently published its map of the presence of the tiger mosquito, in 2024. 90% of French territory is “in vigilance red, orange or purple", alerts the specialized site.

The departments of Hérault and Gard are also on purple alert, the maximum level in terms of invasion. In mainland France, there are only seven departments to be classified at this level, mainly in the south of the territory.

The number of cases of dengue imported into mainland France, mainly following travel to the Antilles, has already broken the record reached throughout 2023, according to data of Public Health France published this Thursday.

Finally, nearly 80% of the territory is affected by a red alert, or 79 departments in total. Twelve others are classified as orange alert. This means that "the tiger mosquito has been intercepted or observed there sporadically".

All the comics at the festival

#SÉRIGNAN. The comic book festival continues this Sunday, May 19, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with many authors and cartoonists present and it floats on this event, which this year celebrates its 29th edition, a communicative scent of joy and good humor.

Paella Champion

#NÎMES. Ten candidates, professional cooks or simple amateurs, took part this Saturday, May 18, in the second French paella championship. A competition under the leadership of Eric Gil, 2022 world champion of valenciana paella, a codified dish which will become a Unesco heritage site.

The jury, made up of health assistant Dolores Orlay-Moureau, Eric Gil and Cédric Gadille, from the Gard restaurateurs brotherhood, decided between the dishes on four criteria: visual, smell, taste and texture. The first prize (a voucher of 1,000 euros) rewards Grégory Cordoba from Bayonne. "Paella is my whole life", he laughs, brandishing a flag of the Basque Country.
