Montpellier handball now has a pair of jeans in its image: it is the result of an original collaboration between its president Julien Deljarry and Julien Tuffery, head of the company based in Florac.
"An obvious partnership."This is how Julien Deljarry presented to the press the collaboration initiated between Julien Tuffery and the club before the MHB-Aix match, Saturday evening, at the FDI Stadium. What is it? Obviously jeans. Straight and fitted cut, indigo color and coin pocket to store your smartphone, these jeans in the colors of the MHB stand out for their elegant and sporty line. In addition to the quality of the design of the pants, it is the originality of the partnership that is surprising. Because this time it is not about dressing the team, which keeps its official outfitter, but about marketing a pair of jeans made in Occitanie. Sold for 170 euros, in men's and women's models, they will be available in the Tuffery store, boulevard du Jeu-de-Paume in Montpellier, and in the one at the FDI Stadium. In concrete terms, 10% of the proceeds from the sale will be donated to the club's endowment fund and 1% to the Mende Gévaudan Handball Club.
“Promoting local consumption”
The two Juliens, despite having many things in common, did not know each other before the start of this adventure. It was one of the club's shareholders who encouraged the meeting. Julien Deljarry particularly insisted on “the common values” that unite the century-old Lozère factory with the Montpellier handball club. And to cite “ambition, commitment, performance, innovation and sharing”. The idea of this co-branding, explains the president of the MHB, is to “promote local consumption”.
“An ecological and responsible fashion”
Just as enthusiastic as his namesake, Julien Tuffery immediately mentions the "disruptive" side of the approach and "the meeting of excellences". With stars in his eyes, the young business leader shares his pride in seeing "these sporty muses" become ambassadors for more responsible and local consumption. "Tuffery jeans emit four times less CO2 than any jeans on the planet. 6 to 8 billion of them are produced each year. These jeans are the showcase for a fashion that is more respectful of the environment and people", explains the young business leader. And to remind that "1,500 copies sold is a job created."
A clip with Rémi Desbonnet
A clip was shot with the player Rémi Desbonnet to launch the marketing of the jeans. Born and trained in Montpellier, there was no better ambassador for "made in Occitanie" rejoices Julien Tuffery. "The path is made if ecological and responsible fashion is worn by sports muses." This exclusive partnership also serves "the managerial motivation of the employees who make the jeans. Because the factory of tomorrow must not be the factory of yesterday."
