Jung Joon-young, and Choi Jong-hoon, two of the stars of K-pop, convicted for gang rape
While the world of K-pop still mourns the suicide of several stars who were victims of harassment, Jung Joon-young, and Choi Jong-hoon, two of the stars of this musical style, were sentenced to 6 years in prison for gang rape. Jung Joon-young was also accused of having shared videos, sex tours without the knowledge of its partners.
Things escalate in the world of K-pop Korean… Victims of harassment, three stars put an end to their day : Kim Jong-hyun, at only 27 years of age, Sulley, star of K-pop, and former singer of F(x), at just 25 years of age or Goo Hara, former singer of Kara, 28 years old, last Sunday. It is in this tense context that, on Friday 29 November 2019, the two stars of K-pop have been sentenced to gang rape : Jung Joon-young, singer became famous thanks to a remote hook, and Choi Jong-hoon, former member of the boy band FT Island.

Both were convicted of gang rapes of two women in 2016 and have, respectively, been sentenced to 6 and 5 years in prison.
“Jung and Choi have taken part in gang rapes of victims who were intoxicated and unable to resist”, one can read in a press release by a Korean studio. If the two accused were assured that young women were willing, the judge stated : “The conversation showed that the accused viewed women as objects of sexual pleasure. They have committed exceptionally serious crimes”. The verdict adds : “They must have a social responsibility proportional to their fame and their wealth”. “Exceptionally serious crimes”
Jung has also been condemned for having shared videos, sex tours without the knowledge of its partners on discussion forums.
“I shared these videos on a discussion forum and I didn’t feel really guilty. I have committed a grave error and inexcusable”, he expressed. Then the scandal broke out last march, the singer of 28 years, had announced his withdrawal from the world of music and had presented an apology “to all his victims” as well as his fans.
